The Mediaville.TV, LLC’s Internship Program is designed to provide college students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience for entry into the career world. Students, of all levels, will have the chance to acquire valuable on-the-job experience while learning about the business and the products our company has to offer. Our Internship Program is designed to give you a professional experience while working in a fun environment with the Executive Head.

 

About Mediaville.TV

Mediaville.TV is a revolutionary concept that will provide a Web-based Social Networking platform for North Alabama and the Tennessee Valley. Mediaville.TV will change the way millions of people interact with their local community. Particular to Mediaville.TV will be features that have recently not been available to local communities including, member profiles, uploading video capabilities, local LIVE radio, blog, comment system, event calendar, business vendor search engine, instant messaging, business coupon downloads, local weather, job listings, world & local news, MV.TV mini series (video), and more. The platforms' intelligent graphic interface will be fully configurable, thereby allowing users to optimize the interface to meet their level of experience and profile needs.

During the Mediaville.TV Internship Program, interns will receive valuable, practical experience as well as leadership training. Interns will also have the chance to interact with senior level staff and gain key industry insight that will help further their career development.

SALES REP DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Pay Grade: Commission Based Internship Last Revision Date: January. 1st, 2011

Responsible for all sales activities in assigned accounts or regions. Manage quality and consistency of product and service delivery.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Present and sell company products and services to current and potential clients.
2. Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made.
3. Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
4. Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned.
5. Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts.
6. Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
7. Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
8. Prepare paperwork to activate and maintain contract services.
9. Manage account services through quality checks and other follow-up.
10. Identify and resolve client concerns.
11. Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
12. Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.
13. Other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events.
2. Provide on-the-job training to new sales employees/interns.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS


1. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Ability to persuade and influence others. Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques. This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Bachelor's Degree and three to five years of sales or marketing experience.
3. Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public.
4. Work requires significant local travel to current and potential clients. This requires the possession of a valid state drivers license within 60 days of internship.
5. Work requires willingness to work a flexible.

WORKING CONDITIONS


Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work requires significant local travel and may require weekend and/or evening work.

MARKETING REP DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Pay Grade: Non-Paid Last Revision Date: January 1, 2011


Will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and producing quality leads for the Sales Department. The Marketing Representative will place outbound calls to potential clients, as well as receive inbound calls from customers responding to various marketing campaigns.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Responsible for promoting and educating consumers about Mediaville.TV’s products and services.
2. Identifies and qualifies high potential customers and transitions the leads to the Sales Department.
3. Places and receives calls from prospective customers by operating telephone equipment, automatic dialing systems, and other telecommunication technologies.
4. Gathers relative information from potential clients and sets up appointments for the Sales Department.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS


1. Knowledge of general computer software and telephone equipment.
2. Skill in speaking to others to convey information effectively.
3. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
4. Ability to listen to and understand information presented through oral expression and written material.
5. Ability to exhibit a professional phone demeanor and professional attitude.
6. Ability to communicate with people outside the organization, representing the organization to clients or potential employees.
7. Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
8. Ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced work environment
9. Excellent communication skills at all levels including excellent listening skills. Must be detail oriented and customer service focused.

PHOTOGRAPHY JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Pay Grade: Non-paid Internship Last Revision Date: January 1, 2011

A photographer produces images that communicate a specific message to the viewer. Their purpose may be artistic, commercial or editorial

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Event coverage of local events
2. Marketing and networking to find new clients
3. Communicating with clients to understand their needs
4. Preparing for photo shoots (e.g. scouting locations, scheduling, renting equipment, etc.)
5. Setting up or taking down lighting, backgrounds, props and other equipment
6. Capturing images
7. Processing images
8. Creating final print images or digital files
9. Archiving images
10. Performing administrative tasks
11. Working with clients to discuss what sort of images they require and how they want to use them;
12. Seeking out appropriate photographic subjects and opportunities;
13. Carrying out research and preparation for a shoot;
14. Working in different locations, and in different circumstances, to get the right image;
15. Using an extensive range of technical equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting and IT software;
16. Communicating with their subjects: putting them at ease, encouraging them and directing them;
17. Arranging still life objects, products, scenes, props and backgrounds;
18. Liaising with other professionals within their specialist area of work, e.g. graphic designers, writers, gallery managers or art directors;
19. Following up the processing and use of images, discussing technical problems, checking for quality and dealing with clients' concerns;
20. Understanding traditional film and digital photography and keeping abreast of industry trends, developments and new techniques;
21. Developing expertise with software to enhance images, change emphasis, crop pictures, move objects, etc;

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Provide on-the-job training to new photographer employees/interns.
2. Attend photography training sessions and classes
3. Complete minor company data entries
4. Prepare marketing plans to advertise and promote our products and services


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS


1. Conceptual- the ability to understand your clients' needs and communicate with them
2. Technical - the ability to identify, configure and use camera, lighting, and props to make images
3. Editing - the ability to process captured images and edit them to meet the customers' needs
4. Marketing - the ability to get your name out and to connect you and your business to your potential customer base
5. Leading - Building and or working in a business environment where you need to create visions, define goals and actions, and implement them to grow the business
6. Serving - Contacting and growing your customer base, measuring customer satisfaction, resolving customer issues.

Working conditions are normal for an event coverage photographer. Work requires significant local travel and will require weekend and/or evening work.

2. What qualifications are required for an internship?
To be considered for the Mediaville.TV, LLC Internship Program, you must:

- Be a full-time student at an accredited college/university
- Entering your sophomore, junior or senior year in college, or in a masters
- Degree or doctorate program
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must have reliable vehicle and ability to travel locally

3. At which locations do you offer internship opportunities?

Internship opportunities are offered only in the Huntsville-Decatur area at this time.

4. How long do internships last?
Most summer internships will last a minimum 15-weeks, however a select number of internships are year-round or vary slightly from the 15-week timeframe.

5. What can I expect from my internship?
The Internship Program’s mission is to offer college students an opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience by participating on project teams and contributing to department initiatives.

6. Do I have to be a U.S. Citizen for an internship in the U.S.?
All qualified students will be interviewed for internships. For U.S.-based internships, you must provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

7. Is this a paid internship program?
No. However, all interns of this program interning as a Sales Representative will receive a 10% commission incentive of every paid sale.

8. How many internship opportunities are available?
Internship opportunities are based upon the specific needs of the business.

9. When is the application deadline?

Applications and interviews will be ongoing until all the internship positions are filled.

10. What training do interns receive?

All interns will have the opportunity to participate in various training programs such as communications skills training, sales enhancement, leadership development, digital training, through instructor led or Web classes.

11. Will an internship with Mediaville.TV guarantee a full-time job when I graduate?
No, but upon graduation, you will have the opportunity to apply for any position listed on Mediaville.TV’s Web site to be considered for a full-time position.

12. Do I have to go through a background check?
Background checks for interns will be determined by the individual business unit.
